initiative
• Inspiration and personalised race wear from iconic athletes like Valerie Adams up for grabs
• Local schools to also benefit from creativity project with a living prize
New Zealand’s next generation of top triathletes will be exercising their imagination as well as their bodies as they get ready for the annual Sanitarium Weet-bix Kids TRYathlon series, thanks to an innovative new competition.
The CourierPost ‘Give it a TRY’ Project is challenging kids competing in any of the 14 Sanitarium Weet-Bix TRYathlon events to transform their CourierPost Trackpak, which arrives to each of the 22,000 kids competing and contains their competition t-shirt, number and other goodies, into a colourful and creative piece of race-wear rather than throwing it out.
Creations could include anything from a cape, shoe laces, hat or wristbands or hair ties.
To enter, kids simply send a photo of themselves wearing their Trackpak creation, along with contact details for a parent, to giveitatry@courierpost.co.nz in advance of their competition day.
One ‘Give it a TRY’ Project winner will be chosen from each of the 14 TRYathlon locations around New Zealand including Manukau, Rotorua, Hamilton, Hastings, St. Heliers, Gisborne, Tauranga, Dunedin, Christchurch, Nelson, Wellington, Palmerston North, New Plymouth and North Shore Auckland.
Each ‘Give it a TRY’ Project winner will receive signed TRYathlon gear and top-secret pre-race preparation tips from a famous Sanitarium Weet-bix Kids TRYathlon athlete ambassador. The winners’ school will also be awarded a native New Zealand tree to plant to celebrate the achievement.
Further information will be included in the Santarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon competition packs arriving a week in advance of each event.
