New Zealand first online streaming fundraiser event
New Zealand first online streaming fundraiser event
featuring some of New Zealand’s top comedic
talent
Dai Henwood, Paul Ego, Urzila Carlson and other well-known home grown talent come together for the comedy gig ComedyAid: Raising Hope For the Philippines. The gig will be streaming online and it’s the first of its kind in New Zealand.
Tim Batt, co-organiser, believes this is the first A-list New Zealand comedy event ever that people can watch from the comfort of their lounge, bedroom or office through the internet.
ComedyAid.co.nz is using uStream's streaming video technology, allowing anyone to watch the event live from their computer (PC, Mac or laptop), iPad, iPhone or Android device. The event will cost just $6 to watch.
“We wanted to make this event accessible to everyone, not just those who purchased tickets,” adds Batt.
The event happening this Tuesday 3 December at
Auckland's Q Theatre is raising money for the NZ Red Cross'
efforts in the typhoon-ravaged Philippines.
Q Theatre
has generously donated its venue space for the event.
“We've been blown away by the support from everyone, comedians, Q and their staff, companies like The Radio Network, Greenscene and Fonterra who snapped up our corporate tables. It's that classic kiwi mentality where everyone just wants to get in behind and help out when someone's in need,” adds Batt.
The evenings full line up includes 7 Days 7 Days stars Dai HenwoodDai Henwood, Urzila CarlsonUrzila Carlson, Ben Hurley Ben Hurley and Paul Ego, Paul Ego, Jono and Ben Jono and Ben star Guy Williams Guy Williams and current Billy T winner Rose Matafao Rose Matafao with Billy T nominee Pax AssadiPax Assadi.
