SurfAid announces merger with Sumba Foundation Australia

SurfAid and Sumba Foundation Australia are proud to announce a merger of the two charities.

Sumba Foundation Australia has been delivering health projects, clean water and a better quality of life to the Sumbanese people, while respecting and preserving their fragile culture and traditions.

Joining these two organisations, which have compatible missions, will strengthen the delivery of programs in the field.

SurfAid CEO Andrew Judge said both organisations see the merger as an exceptional opportunity to deliver more for people in remote surfing locations in Indonesia.

“We are delighted to welcome the Sumba Foundation Australia team to SurfAid,” Judge said. “They will add a wealth of experience working in this area of Indonesia and we look forward to a seamless transition and expansion of programs in Sumba.”

Stephen and Kathryn Nolan, co-founders of Sumba Foundation Australia, believe joining forces with SurfAid will allow Sumba Foundation Australia to continue its commitment to the people of Sumba.

“Our focus will continue to be the improvement of mother and child health, an increase in access to clean water and the reduction of malaria,” Stephen Nolan said. “We believe the future in Sumba is very bright.”
