Destinations Magazine rebrands and launches its first new issue
New Destinations magazine – New Zealand’s longest established travel publication rebrands and launches its first new issue.
Destinations magazine is an established New Zealand travel title founded in 1996. It is under the new ownership of Publisher Stephen Brown, who with his team and a collective of award winning contributors, has set about establishing a new type of magazine that integrates print and digital media. The “iAge” edition, featuring articles about Virgin Galactic, includes ‘discussion’ with Sir Richard Branson about his plans for commercial space flight and what it means for human-kind. He mentions his own desire to ‘go to the moon’ after watching the first moon landing in 1969 and emphasises the need to expand human horizons if human beings are to survive as a species. The ” iAge“ issue also reveals a brand new look for Destinations, with the magazine’s comprehensive re-design by New Zealand’s award winning One Design, who were briefed to create a modern format that visually excites readers and turns Destinations into New Zealand’s foremost ‘coffee table’ publication. Editor Rowena Bahl has introduced live content on the print pages via the interactive “LAYAR” application, and a global travel video library is currently under development for the website that will transform the Destinations web site into a global hub for information about travel destinations across the globe and how to get there. It is designed to inform, inspire and challenge those with inquiring minds.
