VNZMAs Welcome Back Dai Henwood

VNZMAs Welcome Back Dai Henwood

After gracing the Vector Arena stage in 2009 as the host for the biggest night in New Zealand music, Dai Henwood is back as this year’s co-host of the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.

Dai joins five-time host Shannon Ryan on November 20 as the nation celebrates and honours the 2014 Tui recipients.

This year there’s also the added element of the show being broadcast live on channel FOUR. That means music fans all over the country can watch all the action in real time from their living rooms including performances by some of our biggest music talent.

Damian Vaughan, chief executive officer of Recorded Music NZ, says Dai adds great chemistry to the VNZMA hosting team

“Dai is one of NZ’s most popular comedians – and he knows the music awards, having been a host in 2009 – so I think he will bring a great sense of humour and energy to the role.

“Of course having Shannon at his side will be fantastic, she has become a stalwart to the hosting team and I’m sure they will make a great duo.”

Dai Henwood and Shannon Ryan will also host the NZ On Air Critic’s Choice Prize Showcase event, held at The Kings Arms in Auckland on October 29.

The 49th annual Recorded Music NZ Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards ceremony is at Auckland’s Vector Arena on Thursday 20 November.
