A Celebration of Pacific culture! The Pacifica Living Arts Festival is back for another year of vibrant colour and excitement. Kicking off Tuesday 11th November 2014 at 10am, the festival is a unique way for both young and old to immerse themselves in all things Pacific.

The festival features arts and crafts, traditional food and performances by over 30 school multicultural groups as part of the West Auckland Multi-Cultural Schools stage.

The widely celebrated heritage and master artists, the Pacifica Mamas, have hosted the Pacifica Living Arts Festival in west Auckland since its inception nearly 20 years ago. Their artworks and ever vibrant personalities, set the core flavour of this popular annual event.

Master artist Fatu Feu’u and pyrography artist Ray Gee will also present displays of their work to coincide with the festival celebrations. Fatu Feu’u is a leading figure of contemporary Pacific arts in New Zealand, and Ray Gee has had exhibitions at the Mangere Arts Centre and Lopdell House.

The Pacifica Living Arts Festival is based at the Pacifica Arts Centre at the Corban Estate, Sheds 1 & 2 on Mt Lebanon Lane in Henderson and is governed by the Pacifica Mamas Arts and Cultural Trust.

Features:
• Demonstrations and Art Displays from the Pacifica Mamas and other artists
• Over 30 schools participating in a four day performance event during which cultural performance groups from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds present their music, dance and song to their peers and the wider community.
• Arts and craft stalls and an array of yummy foods for sale.
