Katie Thompson in Worlds Largest Online Music Contest
Self managed artist Katie Thompson is a force to be reckoned with, not only when she takes the stage but also when it comes to the online music world. After reaching the top spot on theaudience.co.nz in May she went on to be the first Australisian artist to win global competition Artist SIgnal. Not one to rest on her laurels she’s aiming for the trifecta - Global Rockstar.
Global Rockstar has been labeled the “worlds largest online music contest”. The online competition is seeking to uncover the next music phenomenon with the winner taking home a cash prize of USD 25,000.
Organizers state that in 2013, more than 2,400 artists from 73 different countries took part in the Global Rockstar pilot project.
A multi-stage process will be used to select the Global Rockstar 2014. The national preliminaries begin on 1 September and last until 4 November 2014 – after which the winner from each country will have been decided. Katie needs as much support as she can get to go forward and represent New Zealand.
