SKYCITY contributes $50,000 to save Santa
SKYCITY has announced it will commit $50,000 to help keep the iconic Whitcoull’s Santa on Auckland’s Queen Street.
SKYCITY CEO Nigel Morrison says the Santa is iconic to Auckland and SKYCITY is proud to be a good neighbour, pitching in to ensure he can be restored to his place atop Whitcoulls corner once again.
“Heart of the City has said it will cost $180,000 to put Santa back on his perch.
“Santa has been a special part of Aucklanders’ Christmas celebrations since 1960. It’s just not Christmas without the Queen Street Santa.
“As one of Auckland’s largest businesses, SKYCITY is happy to be playing our part as a good neighbour. We welcome other Auckland businesses to get on board to join us in supporting Heart of the City to help save Santa,” says Nigel Morrison.
