The inaugural Great Wellington Hunt
3 November 2014
They came, they saw and they conquered the inaugural Great Wellington Hunt!
On Sunday the inaugural Great Wellington Hunt saw teams of four race from the Railway Station to the Basin Reserve, to the top of Mount Victoria and many locations in between.
32 teams (116 Adults and 10 kids) set out to find out who John Plimmer was, where to find Te Aro Pa, the story behind the Polish Children of Pahiatua and stopped for a game of hopscotch along the way.
Racers took to Facebook to comment on the event “Brilliant afternoon thank you all. Looking forward to next time already” said Gabrielle Nutt. While Felicity Forrest wrote “Well done on a great event. Lots of fun making new discoveries”.
A total of $2000 was raised for Make – A – Wish New Zealand to help make more wishes come true for children with life threatening medical conditions.
