ANZ Championship rule amendment to draws and points
The ANZ Championship wishes to advise that the TTNL Board has endorsed an amendment to rules in relation to match points and drawn matches for the 2015 ANZ Championship season.
From 2015, the ANZ Championship will recognise drawn matches during the regular season should two teams finish equal on goals at the conclusion of full-time with both teams to be awarded one point each.
If necessary, extra time will only be played during the Conference Finals and ANZ Championship Finals Series – as per existing ANZ Championship Competition Rules.
The following match points will be awarded during the regular season:
2 points – Win
1 point –
Draw
No points – Loss
“Following a review of the 2014 ANZ Championship season, it became clear the league had to address the concern of the indefinite nature of extra-time and the potential impact on programming during the regular season,” ANZ Championship General Manager Andy Crook said.
All other conditions to Competition Rules 2.6 and 2.7 remain the same.
No other playing rule changes have been implemented for the 2015 ANZ Championship season, including the regular season, Conference Finals or ANZ Championship Finals Series.
