Wanaka, 9th December 2014 - The second annual Gathering of Geezers dinner held in Wanaka has raised more than $20,000 for two local trusts.
The dinner celebrated the achievements of more than 20 legends of New Zealand motorsport. These included Graeme Lawrence, Paul Fahey, Shane King, Leo Leonard and Robbie Francevic.
Some 220 people from around New Zealand attended the dinner which was held at the Warbirds and Wheels visitor attraction at Wanaka Airport.
Money raised on the night will go towards the Upper Clutha Children’s Medical Trust and the Warbirds Over Wanaka Community Trust.
“Support for the second ‘Geezers’ dinner was fantastic,” says Ed Taylor, General Manager of Warbirds Over Wanaka.
“People love coming along and hearing these old guys speak. When they were speaking you could have heard a pin drop, such was the respect they were shown,” said Ed.
