Featuring Supermodel pianist Rose Hanify on lead vocals, Fly By Night includes around 8,000 local Wellington children enthusiastically singing the band’s pop hit Fly By Night. The music video was filmed during the annual Artsplash event which took place in the Michael Fowler Centre in September. Artsplash is a young people’s arts festival which brings together primary and intermediate schools throughout Wellington to celebrate dance, music, drama, visual art and wearable art.
This is the second music video from Supermodel’s sophomore album Rimu & Roses which German producer Reinhold Mack, who is responsible for producing some of history’s biggest bands including Queen, David Bowie, ELO, and The Rolling Stones, mixed. Supermodel’s 12-track album Rimu & Roses was released on 17 January 2014.
Supermodel includes frontman/guitarist Mark Hanify, his sister Rose on keys, Michael White on the bass, and drummer Tony Kemp.
