Bands Cancelled from Music Festival
It is with sadness & disappointment that we announce that Sharon O’Neill and Band will not be performing at Summerfest 10th of January 2015 in Ruakaka.
Sharon and the band were looking forward to performing. The Sou’Westers who were to perform themselves as well as form part of backing band have also been cancelled at short notice by the promoter.
Sharon O’Neill & her All Star band under musical director Alan Mansfield performed two concerts recently in Nelson to rave reviews, with fans travelling from Australia, Napier Auckland Wellington and Christchurch to be at the concert. We are concerned that some ticket buyers for Summerfest will be disappointed to find Sharon is not at the festival.
Sharon’s statement posted on her Official facebook page is below.
“If any of you bought tickets to the Ruakaka Magic Tyres Summer Music Festival to hear my songs, then thank you so much but I have to tell you it is not a 'Magic' time for me. I was the first act to be taken off the bill due to lack of finance by the promoter/s. This is an enormous disappointment for me and my band as we were dropped from the line-up with unfair notice.
My apologies to you but the apologies, and any refunds necessary, should come from the promoter/s of this festival. We will still rock on …All the best Sharon”
Sharon hopes to be performing more this year, so keep a look out for that.
