10 Minute Play Competition 2015

RULES:
1. The competition is for scripts suitable for performing on stage with a playing time between 7 and 10 minutes.
2. The competition is open to PANZ members only. Membership is open to any person living in New Zealand who has N.Z. residency. The annual membership fee is $25. To join see: www.playwrights.org.nz
3. A member may submit up to three plays. Each play can be individually authored, co-authored, or authored as a member of a collective.
4. The script must not be an adaptation of anyone else’s previously published or performed work. We advise that you check copyright if quoting previously published work.
5. The name of the author(s) or their contact details must not appear anywhere on the script.
6. There is no prescribed script layout.
7. Writers are recommended to avoid a large cast or complex set.
8. The play must not have been performed before a paying audience on or before 30 April 2015.
9. Entries must be submitted by email to playwrightsnz@gmail.com attaching a completed Entry Form and the script as a Word file.
10. Entries open 01 March 2015 and close 30 April 2015.
11. The Adjudicator will select eight Finalists to be announced in July 2015. They will each receive a prize of $50. No member can occupy more than one Finalist place.
12. The Adjudicator will also select, from the Finalists, a First Place Winner (who receives an additional prize of $200) and Second Place Winner (who receives an additional prize of $100). These will be announced at the Festival.
13. The eight Finalists will all have their plays performed at a PANZ Festival to be held in Palmerston North in September 2015. If any changes to the script are required for performance, these will be discussed between the director and the writer.
14. All rights of each play will remain with the author.
