Soak up summer through music whilst supporting Heart Kids

Soak up the warmth, joy and greatness of summer through music at ‘Summer Delights’, a charity concert presented by Wairua Sinfonietta in support of the work of Heart Kids NZ.

Founded by Music Director Elizabeth Lau in 2014, the Auckland-based Wairua Sinfonietta is the new kid on the block and with a difference. Members of the orchestra come together with the aim to unite and bring positive changes to the community through music.

The idea to form an orchestra was fuelled by Elizabeth’s deep-seated passion for music and strong belief in the power of music to make a difference to the community. With the generous support of like-minded musicians, the orchestra presents quality concerts to raise awareness and funds for charitable organisations.

‘Summer Delights’ is Wairua Sinfonietta’s first concert in 2015, a concert to celebrate the wonder and beauty of summer with clarinet and strings. All profits of the concert go to Heart Kids, the only charity that provides lifelong support for the 12 babies born with a heart defect every week in New Zealand.

Rob Lutter, CEO of Heart Kids said, “We’re grateful to Wairua Sinfonietta for getting behind Heart Kids and supporting the work we do. It makes us feel very special to have a group of talented musicians coming together to play for the benefits of Heart Kids.”

Lau said, “It's such a privilege to be able to do a concert with elite musicians and at the same time, doing something for the wider community. Come and support, it’s going to be a very special evening for all.”

‘Summer Delights’ charity concert on Saturday 21 February from 7:30pm, at St Luke’s Church, 130 Remuera Road.

Call 0508 WAIRUA or email info@wairuasinfonietta.com for tickets. Adult $30, Student/Senior $15, Child under 8 Free.
