Ed Byrne Roaring Forties – New tour dates announced!

A self-confessed "miserable old git" since the age of 23, Ed Byrne is now in his forties. While for others this might result in a crisis that prompts the purchase of a sports car, Ed embraces middle age with open arms. Come join him, as he truly comes of age and gives out his clarion cry: "I am in my forties. HEAR ME ROAR!"

Brilliant Irish stand-up comedian, Ed Byrne, is back at the NZ International Comedy Festival in cahoots with Old Mout Cider for the first time since 2009; with his hugely successful showRoaring Forties.

However happily Ed slides into middle age, he isn’t ready for the slippers and woolly jumper quite yet. Still as angry as he ever was, you wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of one of his withering rants. Family life (now a father of two), and everyday frustrations (seriously, something EVERY day) all come in for a pasting with typically hilarious results as Ed casts his curmudgeonly comic eye over his life.

This promises to be a rip-roaring night you won't want to miss.

As an observational stand-up, Ed Byrne is unrivalled. Wherever he performs, be it the Edinburgh Fringe, on the International Circuit, or a UK tour it’s always to capacity audiences. He’s consistently at the top of his game and produces time and time again not only fabulously funny shows but shows are critically acclaimed!

A future combining a TV career and his passion for the outdoors is in sight, as he’s now broken into factual presenting. He continues to be a serious outdoors enthusiast. He recently climbed Mt Blanc (Europe’s highest mountain) for the second time! The past two years have seen appearances on the BBC’s Dangerous Roads, Volcano Live and co-present Dara & Ed’s Big Adventure with Dara Ó Briain. Ed writes a regular column for The Great Outdoor Magazine and tries to fit in as much mountain climbing as he can whilst on tour.

Ed can currently be heard as the host of a brand new comedy panel show called Britain Vs the Rest of the World.
