On Saturday the 16th Dransfield house plays host to a decadent evening of improv, comedy, drama, champagne, murder, burlesque and live music.

The Grand Speakeasy Murder Mystery is an interactive 1920s themed murder mystery produced by Courtney L'amour. Based in Wellington, Courtney is a well established producer and cabaret performer who has a talent for entertaining.

The murder mystery is a first for Courtney, who has enjoyed the challenge of combining the traditional audience participation murder mystery format with the performance elements of a Burlesque and Cabaret show.

"We have such a great range of performers involved in the production." says Courtney, "The combination of improv and comedy from the actors, alongside the visual entertainment from the other performers is a great mix, and creates a wonderful, vibrant atmosphere."

Actors will be playing out the live murder mystery interspersed by performances from established local singers, magicians and burlesque performers.

Channeling the glamour and charm of The Great Gatsby, Courtney has all her bases covered; "We have the Klaus Vermillion Quartet providing ambient, era appropriate music while the mystery unfolds. There will also be charleston dancing and a best dressed competition."

She adds "I love having the opportunity to create unique experiences for people with the shows that I produce, and the interactive element to this event really adds an extra point of interest to the night."
