Roller Derby home season battle continues

Roller Derby home season battle continues

Wellington’s Richter City Roller Derby league will host the second game of their 2015 home season round robin on Saturday 23 May at Kilbirnie Rec Centre.

Home opener winners Smash Malice will take on Brutal Pageant, who they beat in the home season final last year. Fans will be out in their numbers – in leopard for Malice, or pink for the disgraced beauty queens of Pageant – in a rivalry now 7 years in the making. Both teams feature several veteran skaters and a whole new crop of rookies who’ve joined the Richter City ranks. Fans can check out the new line-ups at https://www.facebook.com/richtercity

Now in its seventh year of public competition, Richter City boasts three home teams comprised of members of the NZ#1 ranked All Stars and NZ#3 ranked Convicts (development team). Wellington is the premier location for derby competition in New Zealand and spectators will have to get in quick for the limited number of seats available.

Doors 6pm, game starts 7pm – tickets available at www.eventfinder.co.nz
