Kiwis Return To NZ With Nicaraguan Art And Plan To Help

Auckland, NZ 15th July 2015

Two kiwi’s Hayden Bell and Uliana Sidorenko travel the world looking for art to share with New Zealanders, call themselves the Art Sherpas. Recently discovered a wealth of talent in Nicaragua, Central America, now opening a Popup store in Victoria park commercial area, from 13th May to 27th May, open 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday. Gallery focused around the work of Gio Gizman (Gigi), Duvan Mendoza, Federico Acevedo, Angel Dario, Tonaco and Antonia. The artists are well known in Central America, gaining popularity in galleries over the US and now its Australasia turn. The aim is to expose the artists to foreign eyes and open up new markets, giving them a chance to share their talent with the rest of the world.

Nicaragua is a developing country with extreme poverty but with a bright future. They work closely with a small local foundation Surf Teach Nica https://surfteachnica.wordpress.com to supply art supplies to local schools in the Tola region in southern Nicaragua. Proceeds of sales go towards this foundation, bringing art supplies to local schools. Also accepting donations at the gallery.
