Sport for the duration of the Netball World Cup Sydney 2015
in August.
SKY today confirmed plans to broadcast all matches from Allphones Arena in Sydney Olympic Park live throughout the 10-day tournament.
Netball New Zealand (NNZ) Chief Executive Hilary Poole says the commitment from SKY to show fans live coverage of all matches on the main court is exciting.
“We are extremely fortunate to have such a strong partner in SKY Sport who broadcast and promote Netball like nowhere else in the world,” said Hilary Poole, NNZ Chief Executive.
“We’re thrilled that our fans and supporters will be able to view the Netball World Cup and the Silver Ferns live on SKY throughout the 10-day tournament in August.”
The tournament features 16 teams and matches will be played across two venues; Allphones Arena and Netball Central – both in Sydney Olympic Park. All of the Silver Ferns matches will be played at Allphones Arena.
“It’s the year of sporting World Cups on SKY in 2015, and to be able to add the Netball World Cup Sydney 2015 to our varied sporting schedule is another fine addition to what’s shaping as one of the biggest years of sport on SKY,” said Richard Last, SKY’s Director of Sport.
SKY will also feature daily highlights throughout the tournament.
SKY has long been a broadcast partner of NNZ, covering all Silver Ferns Test Matches in New Zealand, the ANZ Championship, College Netball and highlights of key domestic Netball tournaments throughout the year.
Netball World Cup Sydney 2015 is a pinnacle event for the Silver Ferns, a tournament which only happens every four years. The Australian Diamonds are the defending World Champions and currently ranked No.1 in the world with the Silver Ferns ranked second.
