Mojo Pulse Captain Katrina Grant will play her 100th ANZ Championship game this Sunday when she leads her team out against the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Although an amazing milestone for the Silver Fern, who has also clocked up 64 test matches, the 28 year-old is reluctant to focus on any celebrations given that the Pulse team are facing a do or die crunch match across the ditch.
“It’s really crept up on me and not something I’ve really been focusing on. For me and the team, it’s about winning this Sunday,” she said.
Katrina’s ANZ Championship career began at the Southern Steel in 2008 under the guidance of Robyn Broughton, making the change to the Central Pulse in 2010 where she inherited the captain’s armband a year later. This weekend’s game will be her 65th at the helm.
“I owe a big thank you to my family who have helped me to be the netballer I am today. Without their huge support I wouldn’t be able to play the sport I love at this level.
“I’m very lucky and very privileged to have the opportunity to play netball every day and alongside some amazing people.”
The Mojo Pulse play the Adelaide Thunderbirds this Sunday away at Netball SA Stadium in Adelaide. Centre pass is at an earlier time of 11.48am local time (2.18pmNZ).
