Mini Alpine Series 1

Fun races for children of all ages. Run over 4 weeks the Mt Hutt Mini Alpine Series is a timed race series for school kids up U18. Entry is Free.

Over 4 weeks kids will be timed through the course and on the final week prizes giving for all who attended. No speed suits are allowed in these races. Each athlete has 2 runs per race and the results are taken from the best combined total time.

Junior Interfields 1

These races are aimed at E level skiers as an introductory race series although K and J athletes also enjoy participating in the friendly atmosphere.

Each athlete has 2 runs per race and the results are taken from the best combined total time. Medals are awarded to the top 5 place getters and every entrant receives a certificate. An awards ceremony is held after each race and includes spot prizes and goodie bags. Series winners are also awarded at the conclusion of the final race.

First competition in a series of three. The Streets Mini Shred is all about having a go and having a ton of fun. Lots of prizes and giveaways to be won, this series is free to enter (with a valid lift pass).

Canterbury Schools race day.

Masters Race (7 and 8 August)

Masters Racing is open for anyone who wants to give it a go from the age of 21 - 80+. The competitors compete against other skiers in their 5 year age bracket. i.e. 30 - 34, 35 - 39 etc. Competitors range from the elite ex-racers in their lycra race suits to those that 'want to give it a go'.

Please Note: Helmets are compulsory for all events.
You will need to wear your pass to ride the lifts - at all times , the pass activates the gates that let you on the lift.
Course inspection - please respect the rules - side slip only. If you are spotted skiing or shadowing the course a time penalty will be added.

Final race in a series of four races.

NZYS National Champs (Friday 21 – Sunday 23 August)

These races are for the U14 and U16 age groups; however other older age group racers may enter in order to obtain National points within their age group. Separate categories will be established for any of those racers that are not in the U14 and U16 age groups.

Peak to Pub

The Peak to Pub is back for its 16th year of snow, dirt, pavement, and everything in between! The race that promises to weed out the weak from the strong and those who coast from those who charge! It is a three-section race that can be done individually or in a team of three. The race starts on skis or snowboards from the peak of Mt Hutt down to the base area where you switch to a mountain bike and race down the mountain before running 11km to the Blue Pub in Methven for a well-deserved beer

Sink or swim? Get your fancy dress, bikinis, board shorts or togs ready, it's gonna get wet!

Helmets are compulsory.
