Dictaphone Blues to Open for Johnny Marr
Johnny Marr Announces Dictaphone Blues to Open at Powerstation Show
Auckland band Dictaphone Blues have
been to confirmed to open for Johnny Marr at his only New
Zealand show this July.
Dictaphone Blues latest offering is Mufti Day. The album (without question the bands finest) includes #1 alt radio airplay single Her Heart Breaks Like A Wave, bNet hit 365 and most recently Lances Tape.
It has been met with love and adoration from fans and critics:
‘With widescreen production Phil Spector might admire, hooks big enough to land swordfish, half-familiar melodies, and cannoning drums behind stacked-up jangle guitars and sweeping synth-strings, Dictaphone Blues is a sheer delight and only the hardest heart won't be amused, seduced and delighted’ - Graham Reid, (NZ Herald & Elsewhere)
Dictaphone Blues have recently played
throughout NZ on the Lances Tape single release tour and are
now gearing themselves to warm up the crowd with their indie
pop guitar gems ahead of musical hero Johnny Marr.
Marr
is a founding member of Manchester alt-rock icons The Smiths
and has performed alongside the likes of Modest Mouse, Beck,
Talking Heads, The The and Oasis.
Equipped with a cavalcade of new tracks from his latest album The Messenger (out now through Warner Music) and the many unforgettable classics, this marks Marr’s first ever solo show in New Zealand. Don't miss the man live.
