Winter holidays are coming and so is CSO Kids

Winter holidays are coming and so is CSO Kids.

The popular concert is tailored especially for 2 to 6 year olds with catchy songs to boogie down to, singalong nursery rhymes and classics such as The Hall of the Mountain King and Flight of the Bumblebee.

It will be conducted by Christchurch conductor Luke Di Somma and features vocals by Juliet Reynolds-Midgley.

“I love to see the children's eyes light up as they let the music take them on a journey,” said Reynolds-Midgley. “Children are not afraid to explore and use their imaginations and when you connect music with imagination, wonderful things happen.

"Music has the power to transport us to wonderful places and CSO Kids is a fabulous opportunity for young children to be introduced to the instruments that take us on those magical journeys.”

Di Somma has conducted CSO Kids for the past four years.

During the performance, the audience will have the opportunity to examine the instruments of the orchestra up close and interact with the orchestra’s players.

CSO Kids will be performed in both Christchurch and Timaru on the 7th and 8th July respectively.

Children are encouraged to bring a soft toy along to the concert.
