2015 Unitec Pacific Songwriting Competition overall winner and People's Choice winner: TIMtrio - Oso le la (The Sun is Rising). Ose le la is an uplifting original work written in Samoan, Tongan and English, with a positive message. “This song is about a brighter day and a reminder to anyone with struggles that regardless of the situation, like the lyrics say: “Just put your head up, because it’s a brand new day.”
TIMtrio are Teejay Nanai, Seira Tuimaseve Gasu, Melevesi Finau from Otahuhu College, South Auckland, New Zealand.
The Unitec Pacific Songwriting Competition is in its second year of competition promoting New Zealand's Pacific languages through music. This MTV video was produced by Unitec's Department of Performing and Screen Arts and Music programme as part of the winner's prize package.
