18 Dec, 2015: As a long standing sponsor of the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC), Volkswagen New Zealand congratulates its ambassador of two years Simon Child, and the New Zealand Men's hockey team, for being invited to compete at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

We’ve been behind captain Simon Child as a Volkswagen ambassador for two years now and not only does he deserve to represent New Zealand on the world stage, we believe that the whole team will do very well.
“We’re incredibly proud of him, and as a long term partner of New Zealand Olympic team, we will be doing everything we can to support the team on their journey.”
Volkswagen ambassador since 2014, Simon Child, said, “I was very happy to hear we’ve qualified for Rio, but the overwhelming feeling was relief! Now we can get excited about the preparation and look forward to the Games.
“It’s huge to have Volkswagen as a sponsor. Their support helps me to get from one side of Auckland to the other for training and makes me feel a bit better about sitting in traffic!”
