“Un-missable duo” Radius back on tour in January 2016
Radius are back setting NZ stages alight with the release of their second album The Big Picture. Christchurch’s ___Harry Harrison on Dobro, Banjo, Resonator Guitar, and Justine S on Saxophones and Flutes, utilise every combination of their instruments, as well as loops to create a genre bending new sound. ___ The Big Picture is both dreamy and powerful. Bluesy/jazzy textures of guitars, saxophones and flutes transport the audience to another time and place. “This album is about new horizons, where we have come from and where we are going. It felt like time to expand, so we took the lid off it.”
Since the release of Seven Tales in 2013, Radius have toured their music from the depths of Dunedin to New York City. ___Recent NZ Jazz and Blues festival performances include Waiheke, Christchurch, Nelson, Tauranga, and Queenstown.
___
The Tauranga Jazz Festival called Radius “An un-missable duo that balances consummate musicianship with a real wow factor!” adding that “they packed out every venue that they played as part of our National Festival 2014. We need a bigger room for them next year.”
