Celebrity Mentalist set to Blow Minds in Wellington
Award winning psychological illusionist, Morgan Strebler (USA) is set to perform in the capital in a one-off mentalism show at Hannah Playhouse this month. Produced by the Wellington Magic Club, the 90-minute solo show Inside Your Mind showcases Strebler’s extraordinary abilities in mind reading, mentalism and psychokinesis.
“If you have ever seen a magician bend a spoon or fork with their mind, there is a good chance they were using techniques developed by Morgan,” says Wellington Magic Club president Nopera Whitey.
Strebler is considered a world expert in the field of psychokinetic magic (using only the mind to manipulate physical objects) and in 2015 the International Magicians Society recognised Strebler as the ‘Mentalist of the Year’, presenting him with the coveted Merlin Award; an award shared by magicians such as Penn and Teller, David Copperfield and Criss Angel.
Over the past decade Strebler has become sought after for celebrity parties, and has performed for names such as Tom Hanks, Ben Stiller, Jude Law, Paris Hilton, Ice T, and Michael Jackson. Strebler’s skills have even been praised by Uri Geller; a controversial performer who made headlines in the 1970s due to claims he could bend cutlery using paranormal powers.
Inside your Mind will show on Friday the 29th of January, 7pm at Hannah Playhouse. Ticket prices range from $18 – $24 and are available at eventfinda.co.nz.
