Auckland Wind Orchestra Concert 2/4/16
The Auckland Wind Orchestra is proud to present "Musical Landscapes" conducted by Opeloge Ah Sam, the first Samoan & Pasifika person to ever have conducted the NZ Symphony Orchestra.
The concert theme is landscapes - playing a selection of music from around the world from Spain, USA, Holland, France and more.
The repertoire includes "Ole" by Chic Corea (inspiring Spanish music), Maurice Ravel's famous "Pavane", Franz Biebl's beautiful "Ave Maria", Jacob De Haan's substantial work "Oregon" and more.
With the highlight of the afternoon being a stunning flute solo by the talented Priscilla Scanlan, who will be performing "The Carmen Fantasy" by Francois Borne and arranged for wind orchestra by David Woodcock.
