Entries now open for Wairarapa Art Sale
Artists are being sought for the Wairarapa Art Sale, a cash-and-carry exhibition that will raise money for the Featherston Community Centre.
Artists can apply for free on the Featherston Community Centre website http://featherstoncommunity.org.nz.
All work must be for sale, have a sale price of between $25 and $500 and have a commission of at least 20 per cent taken from all sales. Artists should have a connection to the Wairarapa with preference given to those with a Featherston connection.
The selection process is open now with a deadline of 1 May. Artists will be notified quickly afterwards if they’ve been successful.
The exhibition will run from 20-22 May, which is the same weekend as the Featherston Booktown. The opening night will be Thursday 19 May.
Volunteers sought for Wairarapa Art Sale
Volunteers are needed for the opening night and the three days of the Wairarapa Art Sale. Tasks will include greeting people, keeping an eye on the artworks, selling artwork, cash handling (EFTPOS skills will be useful) and wrapping purchases.
Art committee member Emily Greenberg says that volunteering doesn’t have to be a big commitment but it will be a big help.
“We’re looking for people who can give a couple of hours or more of their time to help at a great local event.
“In return volunteers can expect to enjoy an art show, meet new people and help in raising money for the Featherston Community Centre.”
