Gilbert Robertson looking for Success
Godzone (GZ) is the ultimate expedition adventure racing experience and in 2016 is being held in the Nelson Tasman region. It requires four person teams to be unsupported and travel approximately 500km across the Nelson Tasman regions wilderness for up to seven days.
Gilbert Robertson, director at Your Success Limited in Nelson, takes on the GZ next week starting on 2 April in the Nelson Tasman area. Gilbert and his 3 team mates are in the Village Cycle race team and have been training for the race over the last five months. Training per week has been up to 30 hours in the disciplines of mountain biking, canoeing, trekking, kayaking and most importantly navigation. The director at Your Success Limited believes the quickest way to the top is in a straight line which may give them some steep hills to climb! GZ represents the most technically challenging adventure race in the World and the Village Cycle team is looking forward to meet and beat the challenge.
The course will set up and test the full range of skills of participants. A high level of proficiency, competence and fitness is required to successfully negotiate the course in its entirety. It is anticipated that the winning teams for GZ will take between three and four days to finish.
