Bowie Ubu Night
Free Theatre Christchurch presents:
Bowie Ubu Night
The great trailblazer of musical trends and pop fashion King Ubu invites you to an evening with his partner in glam-rock David Bowie. Back by popular demand, Bowie will be returning to ground control in The Gym, the Arts Centre, where sounds and visions from his life on earth will be presented for your auditory, visual and gustatory pleasure. A lineup of Christchurch performance artists and musicians are busy preparing themselves once again for Bowie’s reincarnation, so put on your red shoes, step through the door and join Ubu and his friends for an evening of stardust.
Ubu Nights are a series of entertainments (combining theatre, music, film and hospitality) that engage diverse communities in interactive and sensory experiences. Proudly supported by the Christchurch City Council, the Arts Centre of Christchurch and RDU, Free Theatre is collaborating on these Ubu Nights with Christchurch artists from different disciplines. The unique experience of contemporary performance is quite unlike anything on offer in Christchurch and is proving very popular with Neat Places describing Ubu Nights as “our new favourite thing to do on Friday nights”.
