All good things must come to an end

ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END, INCLUDING THE MONTHLY MYSTERY

WELLINGTON, 5 May 2016 - After a successful six months, The Monthly Mystery, New Zealand’s only all-magic-and-mystery will have its final episode at the Fringe Bar in Wellington on 19 May 2016, at 7 pm.

“All good things must come to an end,” says Mountebank Entertainments’ Mike Kay. “The Monthly Mystery has had a great run. We’ve provided Wellington with astonishment, magic and wonder - all those things that remind us of what an amazing thing it is to be human. The final episode promises all this and more, a celebration of the mysterious.”

Produced by Mountebank Entertainments Limited and featuring magic, mind-reading, mirth and mayhem, The Monthly Mystery has showcased Wellington, national and international performers skilled in the mystery arts.

Some of the performers in the final Monthly Mystery include:

Anton van Helden and his comedy magic stylings;

Matthew Carter and his mental marvels;

Mr Lola Illusion and their sublime ridiculousness;

...with Mike Kay as host.

Ultimately, Kay is philosophical about the final episode of The Monthly Mystery. “Orson Welles said ‘If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.’ It’s been a rewarding journey, one that I wouldn’t trade for anything.”

The Monthly Mystery occurs at the Fringe Bar in Wellington on 19 May 2016, at 7 pm. Tickets are $15, available online at http://www.eventfinda.co.nz/. If the show has not sold out, there will be door sales.
