The past three weeks have seen some incredible New Zealand comedians take to the stages in Auckland and Wellington as part of the NZ International Comedy Festival powered by Flick Electric Co.

Named in honour of ex-pat comedy icon John Clarke’slegendary Kiwi character Fred Dagg, The FRED Award was introduced in 2006 and recognises the Comedy Festival's Best Show by a New Zealand comedian.

The three FRED Award finalists for 2016 are:

Nic Sampson

Pax Assadi

Rhys Mathewson

The 2016 Comedy Fest is coming to a close, but there is still one final night of awards, partying and laughs. At Last Laughstomorrow evening (Sunday 15 May), The Fred Award winner will be announced as part of the final hoorah. Catch the best of the best with a line up including the three FRED Award nominees and the five Billy T Award nominees, alongside special guests.

Past winners include Brendhan Lovegrove, Dai Henwood, Ben Hurley, Te Radar, Wilson Dixon, Jan Maree, Rhys Darby, Jarred Christmas and Trygve Wakenshaw.

There are very limited seats left for this very special show.
