Fringe Champions are set to hit the Circa Theatre stage with their rambunctious new show "No Post on Sunday" 27 August to 10 September.
Everybody Cool Lives Here is proud to present this exciting new work from the minds of five emerging artists - three of who were born with intellectual disabilities.
No Post on Sunday will charm audiences with the story of the colourful characters of a classic kiwi neighbourhood. Meet Wendy Stanley (Nick Smith), a regional reporter whose marriage to the town clown David Stanley (Duncan Armstrong) is unique, to say the least. Or Harry (Jacob Dombroski) - by day local postie but as the stars come out he transforms into ‘Fundungo’, the local lothario who’s dance moves rival Justin Bieber's.
No Post on Sunday will remind audiences of a time where everyone in the neighbourhood knew each other and the post office was the hub of town.
"In this age of social media and smart phones, community gatherings and real human connection can be hard to come by,” says Artistic Director Rose Kirkup.
"We are excited to embrace this sense of community and welcome audiences to be a part of our neighbourhood. The experience of inclusion and acceptance of all will be taken out of the theatre and into the world.”
Following the success of Wake Up Tomorrow(2015) - which won 6 NZ Fringe Festival awards including best show and an Art Access Aotearoa award - the team and cast at Everybody Cool Lives Here are excited to share this provocative new work.
