The Max Key Release Debut Single And Music
Video
New Zealand alt-pop band The Max Key are today releasing their debut single ‘In Paradise’.
The lush dream pop track is about love and poverty, and the group made the accompanying video themselves. They felt it was important to capture a “day in the life” of young working class love.
While they have enjoyed producing the single, the band’s one regret was the time it took.
“We have had our name for a few years, while we’ve pretty much just been practising at home and stuff…. since then the Prime Minister’s son has become musically active, and the name thing is a bit of an awkward coincidence,” the band explains. “Hopefully once we’ve had a few more views we’ll be easier to Google”.
Excitingly, such productivity issues have since been overcome: the group plan to release another single and a full-length record (‘Moonbeam’) in the coming months.
Fans who wish to keep up with the band’s activity can find them on Bandcamp (https://themaxkey.bandcamp.com) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/themaxkey).
