Boy George: NZ VISA Approved, Christchurch Show Cancelled
Boy George and Culture Club
NZ VISA Approved Christchurch Show Cancelled!

Boy George has, this week, had his visa to travel to New Zealand approved. Additionally, the Christchurch show has been cancelled. Auckland’s Vector Arena date will proceed as planned.
"Due to changes to the international touring schedule for Culture Club, the band regret that they will not now be able to perform in Christchurch but will fly directly into Auckland to play Vector Arena on Sunday 4 December. They are looking forward to this first appearance in New Zealand” said promoter Stewart Macpherson.
Christchurch ticket purchasers will be refunded through Ticketek – phone 0800 TICKETEK (0800 842 438).
Preparing to bring his outrageous party of chart topping hits to New Zealand for the first time, George, who is currently in Canada with his band of all original Culture Club members, is looking forward to performing for a Kiwi audience.
“….no one goes home from a Culture Club show without a smile on their face. We put on a great show. We don’t dial it in. We enjoy what we do. I think a lot of people worry about seeing an older band because they might be tired or disheveled. We’ve had amazing reviews for our last tour; people have really been surprised by the show and our energy levels and our enthusiasm for what we do. You won’t regret coming” he told New Zealand’s Express Magazine last month (read the full interview here - www.gayexpress.co.nz/read-online).
As the first multi-racial band with an openly gay front man, Culture Club has set many records including winning the Brit Award for Best British Group, the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, and Best British Single (Karma Chameleon).
Put on your dancing shoes and celebrate Christmas this December with all your favourite Culture Club hits - Karma Chameleon, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, It’s A Miracle/Miss Me Blind, Victims, The War Song, Move Away andChurch of the Poison Mind.
“…if you like to go out, if you like to feel good, if you like to be transported by music, if you’re in search of authenticity in a land inundated by fake. This is your gig’’
