Waiheke Jazz Festival 2017
Lots to be excited about
– and a few laughs to be had...
The Supper Club show on Easter Saturday at Aperitivo Wine Bar has sold out BUT there's still lots of capacity at the Evening Concerts and at the Daytime Jazzabout – these are popular shows so best to buy now to avoid disappointment. The Good Friday Groove is selling "off the hook" as we say in the trade – which loosely translates to "Dave Dobbyn, Little Bushman et al must be BIG drawcards!". BUY NOW
Anyway, with just over two and a half weeks to run, the pianists are practicing, the vocalists are warming up and the drummers... well, the drummers are drumming.
Which reminds me of a couple of drummer jokes:
Q: What's the similarity between a drummer
and a philosopher?
A: They both perceive time as an
abstract concept.
Q: How can you tell if the stage is
level?
A: The drool comes out of both sides of the
drummers mouth.
All jest aside – can’t wait for this festival – it's shaping up well. See you out there at one of the gigs!
