Adrian Paul, star of Highlander, to host “The Sword Experience” at 'ARMAGEDDON' Tauranga 28 MAY 2017 AND Wellington 3 JUNE 2017
New Zealand, May 2017 - Film, TV and martial arts star Adrian Paul has announced he is bringing a touch of Hollywood to New Zealand. 'The Sword Experience,' a unique training program featuring actual film choreography, will appear for the first time in New Zealand at the Armageddon Entertainment Expo.
Paul is most well known for playing Duncan Macleod, the lead role in the action series Highlander. The show spanned 6 seasons, 117 episodes and ran in over 90 countries worldwide. He designed 'The Sword Experience' to give enthusiasts an exciting glimpse into the world of film and TV. It also offers a taste of the formal and mental training that goes into the development of a martial arts warrior. By hosting The Sword Experience hehopes to pass on the invaluable knowledge he learned whilst working with world-renowned action stars, stunt choreographers, and sword masters.
“Stepping into the Sword Experience is like stepping onto the set of a Hollywood production,” said Paul. “Participants will receive the same training that actors and stunt performers receive. We'll work through the motions, steps and stances from some of the most famous movies of our time. I'll run through actual film choreography, preparing participants for a finale that they’ll be talking about for years down the line.”
In addition to starring in many renowned action movies and shows, Paul has also choreographed numerous sword fights and action sequences for both television and film. During his 30-year entertainment career he has also directed and produced TV shows and films and founded his charity: The Peace Fund.
The Peace Fund was established in 1997 to help improve the lives of children in the United States, Haiti, Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, Hungary and Romania. It was whilst working on The Peace Fund that Paul first experimented with running The Sword Experience workshop. It proved to be so popular that he decided to host similar events across the globe.
The Sword Experience features at the Armageddon Entertainment Expo in Tauranga 28 May and Wellington 3 June 2017. Tickets to the event are separate to entry to Armageddon.
