Well Known New Zealanders Produce Artwork for Trademe Auction
Nationwide: Tamati Coffey,
Bernice Mene, Dion Nash, Richard O’Brien and Suzy Cato are
among the New Zealand celebrities donating original works of
art to be auctioned for charity on Trademe.
From sunsets by singers to portraits by playwrights, a range of subjects and styles have been captured by the celebrity artists generously donating their creativity and imagination to support Kiwi families raising children with disabilities.
“These doodles – for doodles they are – were drawn just for the fun of doing so. My only hope is that others find them appealing and, with this fundraiser in particular, I feel an urgent need to hear that someone has paid far too much for them. You must remember that I am 75, and a doodler’s work (after they have shuffled off to doodler’s heaven) does tend to increase in value.”
- Richard O’Brien, writer of the international musical phenomenon The Rocky Horror Picture Show (See attached image)

“My inspiration was to not let diversity hold one back from dreaming big. This is something that is important to me and I hope my artwork encourages others to celebrate and live their diversity.”
- Aaron Fleming, Ironman & NZ Olympic Ambassador
The auction is being run by Parent to
Parent, a nationwide charity that has supported New Zealand
families raising children with disabilities for over 30
years.
