David Burchell will conduct the choir and the DSO ensemble and soloists in three works: J.S. Bach’s cantata Erfreut euch, ihr Herzen; Guiseppe Verdi’s Stabat Mater; and Gerald Finzi’s Lo, the full, final sacrifice.

The soloists are mezzo-soprano Claire Barton, tenor Benjamin Madden and bass Malcolm Leitch, with organ played by Douglas Mews.

The renowned California high school choir the Main Street Singers under the baton of conductor Mark Shaull, will sing a bracket of choral music.

The group of 26 senior high school singers, aged 16 to 18, is on a 17-day tour to New Zealand and Tonga. More information from the website www.citychoirdunedin.org.nz
