Steve Gadd to tour NZ

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NEW ZEALAND THE ONE AND ONLY
STEVE GADD
“One of the most influential drummers of all time”.

With a resume that’s boasts sessions and tours with the likes of Chick Corea to Eric Clapton to Steely Dan to Paul McCartney to James Taylor to Paul Simon to you – name them, Steve Gadd has put his indelible stamp of rock, jazz, blues, fusion and pop.
If there’s a form of music he hasn’t played, chances are it hasn’t yet been invented.

One of the most influential drummers of all time, Steve Gadd set a new standard in contemporary drumming techniques and performance, and in doing so launched a thousand imitators.
Recording so many legendary drum tracks like; " Aja"," Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover" and "Nite Sprite", there is no drummer alive today who in some way has not been effected by Steve Gadd. His influence is still very much felt and can be heard in the playing of everyone from Vinnie Colaiuta to Carter Beauford. And still to this day there is no one who can get "inside" a tune and find the "pocket" quite like the great Steve Gadd.

And Saxophone Colossus
JAMES CARTER – SAXOPHONIST
Down Beat magazine's Critics and Readers Choice award for baritone saxophone several years in a row.

James Carter has cemented his reputation as one of the most adventurous, visionary young red platers on the cusp of the new millennium….Not as an outsider, but as one of the most exciting. Chip Stern, JAZZ TIMES

James Carter’s Elektrik Outlet, a new configuration within which he has found a new groove to explore. Shifting his sax into a keen array of electronics and pedals just might be the perfect “outlet” for Carter to tap into that “frustrated guitarist” that he often describes himself to be. An excellent selection of tunes from Eddie Harris, Gene Ammons, Al Jarreau, Stevie Wonder, Minnie Ripperton and others provides impetus for Carter’s Elektrik Outlet to sizzle, slide, and pop. Adding energy to the group are fellow Detroit artists, Gerard Gibbs on electronic keyboards, Ralphe Armstrong on electric bass and Alex White on drums.
