University The Lab (Centre for Translational Research- Te
Aho Matatu) research into the CDH1 Cancer
gene that has affected Stan’s Family.
Professor Parry Guilford, Director Professor Biochemistry Cancer Genetics Laboratory University of Otago The Lab (Centre for Translational Research- Te Aho Matatu) is aiming to develop or identify drugs which can be used to eliminate early cancers in the stomachs and breast tissue of CDH1 mutation carriers. We believe that such drugs could be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of gastric and breast cancer in HDGC families. That would mean reducing the need for surgery. The Centre is a registered charity too-so you can get a third back on your tax! We could figure out a way to support Kimi Hauora once they get started on a project - but also use any donation to help with our drug development program.
