Kiwi Baker takes win for NZ
Nelson based baker and guitarist Daryl “Chaos” Thompson of Medicine Woman Band has come out on top out of 250 entries in the Woolworths Songwriters Festival!
In late July Chaos entered their song Aamethyst through Countdown Stoke, the theme for submissions was a song written to support people’s mental health- about being there for someone.
Thinking he hadn’t gotten anywhere with the contest, Chaos was recently surprised by the news, his song had won for NZ and the entire band is being shouted to the Grand final in Sydney to duke it out with 4 other Australian artists live at The Manning Bar on Feb 7th for the title!
“With our first album being released later this year, we are just so grateful & honoured to be representing NZ across the ditch!!” says lead vocalist Cher Hunter.
The
band asks for kiwis to send them off with good vibes-
