Coming to Lightbox this April - The Act, only on Lightbox

Exclusive to Lightbox this April, The Act is a seasonal anthology series that tells startling, stranger-than-fiction true crime stories. The first season follows Gypsy Blanchard, a girl trying to escape the toxic relationship she has with her overprotective mother. Her quest for independence opens a Pandora’s box of secrets, one that propels her down a deadly path. Based on a 2016 Buzzfeed article ‘Dee Dee Wanted Her Daughter To Be Sick, Gypsy Wanted Her Mom To Be Murdered’, The Act stars Academy Award winner, Patricia Arquette, Joey King and Chloë Sevigny.
Lightbox will premiere The Act with a special four episode premiere on Thursday 4 April – weekly there-after.

There is plenty of other great TV for those cooler nights and long Easter break:
• Procedural drama, 9-1-1, exploring the high-pressure experiences of those at the forefront of emergency services. Starring Angela Bassett (American Horror Story), Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) and Peter Krause (Six Feet Under), this series is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
• The award-winning drama, The Americans is back with a new season to binge, dropping 28th April.
• In 1969, while a cultural revolution with a soundtrack to match swept through the free world, there was still one place that refused to change with the times: newsrooms. Good Girls Revolt follows a group of young female researchers at News of the Week, who simply ask to be treated fairly.

Reilly comedy Holmes and Watson.

And everyone can experience the Peter Jackson directed feature documentary, They Shall Not Grow Old, which had a very limited cinematic release and will be available on Lightbox from 10th April.
