Paekakariki Surf Lifeguards Announce A New Partnership With Coastlands Shoppingtown
Paekakariki Surf Lifeguards are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Coastlands Shoppingtown for 10 year naming rights of the ‘Coastlands Lounge’ in their new Surf Club which is nearing completion after 14 years in the pipeline.
Coastlands have been supporting the Nippers programme for the last two years and have followed the new building progress with interest. Their offer of financial support has come at just the right time as Homestead Construction hand over the site to the clubbies to complete the internal fit-out, roading and landscaping themselves.
After being demolished due to earthquake damage and coastal erosion 2 years ago, the club was forced re relocate 80m back into Queen Elizabeth Park and commence the long journey towards building a new club.
“It’s been an uphill climb financially getting the building to the ‘closed in’ stage and we’ve had some really generous supporters along the way. Now that we’re in the final stages of completing the interior fit-out, it’s getting harder to find people willing to contribute” says Fundraising Chair, Karen Simpson-Warren. “We’re so very grateful that Richard Mansell and his team at Coastlands have offered to help-out with some significant funding. It takes the whole community to get behind a project like this, and Coastlands have gone above and beyond the call of duty in supporting us in our Nippers programme and now with funds to help in this final stage of the new building.”
Coastlands CEO Richard Mansell, said “This new partnership with Paekakariki Surf Lifeguards continues the companies partnership focus of investing in junior sports and top class facilities on the Kapiti Coast.”
The ‘Coastlands Lounge’ will incorporate a large social space, bar and commercial kitchen and will be a fabulous place for the community to hire for a multitude of functions. As well as being the hub of the surf club’s operations, the facility will be used for weddings, park and beach events, school and sports groups, corporate meetings and more … the room will create memories for generations of Kapiti Coasters and those that love the Coast as much as we do.
