Walk Without Fear Trust Launches BMW M4 CSL Raffle Campaign To Combat Street Violence
Walk Without Fear Charitable Trust, in partnership with the Diamond Charitable Trust, has launched a nationwide campaign to tackle the devastating human cost of “one-punch” attacks and street violence. Central to the campaign is a limited-edition BMW M4 CSL valued at $341,000, with entries open to New Zealand residents from 29 August to 21 November 2025, and the winner drawn on 29 November 2025.
The campaign represents a comprehensive, multi-platform effort designed to raise awareness of the severity and irreversibility of coward punches. Content planned across social media, television, radio, and live activations, the Trust is seeking to make these acts universally recognised as an abhorrent crime.
Walk Without Fear Trust Chairman, Eugene Bareman, said the initiative is about more than fundraising – it’s about sending a societal message.
"Each time a life is taken or shattered by a coward punch, it creates ripples that destroy families and communities," Bareman said. "Look at Fau Vake’s family, or Daniel Nganeko’s. These aren’t abstract tragedies, it’s real pain, real loss. We need everyone to see these attacks for what they are: abhorrent, unforgivable, and completely unacceptable in our communities."

The campaign would not be possible without the support of the Diamond Charitable Trust. Chairman Alan Farragher emphasised the power of collaboration in addressing such a critical issue:
"Bringing together an influential team to tackle street violence has allowed us to create something with real impact. Together, we can amplify the message that street violence and coward punches in particular are intolerable, and that communities have the power to respond."
A key highlight of the campaign is a choreographed dance video featuring UFC Middleweight superstar Israel Adesanya, UFC coach Eugene Bareman, and UFC Light Heavyweights Carlos Ulberg, and Navajo Stirling. The video portrays the human side of the campaign in an innovative and unexpected way.
Adesanya, who also choreographed the routine, pushed his coach, Bareman, to step outside his comfort zone. Bareman, known for his reserved public persona, performed a dance for the first time ever to highlight the cause.
"There’s no point having a platform if you can’t use it to do some good," Adesanya said. "Fau’s life, his family, Daniel Nganeko’s life and his family– the consequences of coward punches are horrific. We need to change how people see this act. It’s the lowest a person can sink to. If we can do it through this video, something fun and unexpected – then every awkward step is worth it. Eugene had never danced a day in his life, but we pushed him, and he pushed himself, and together we’re doing something to bring these atrocities from the dark into the light.”
Bareman added: "I’ve never danced in public before, but for this campaign, for this cause, it was worth pushing myself. It’s about showing commitment, about proving that even those of us who are usually behind the scenes can step up to make a difference. Israel forced me to try something I would never do – and it’s for a reason far bigger than me. I’m not going to say I liked doing it but if it deters one person from throwing a coward punch or saves one person from one, it was worth it."
Carlos Ulberg and Navajo Stirling also appear in the video, lending their voices to the powerful message. Ulberg said:
"It’s about doing something positive for the community, using our voices to shift attitudes, especially among young people. Violence like this can be stopped if we all take responsibility."
Stirling commented: "I hear far too often about coward punches and their devastating impact. Being part of this campaign is a chance to intervene before it’s too late."
The first activation of the campaign will take place at The Hub Hornby in Christchurch on Saturday 30 August at 12pm, where ambassadors and the campaign team will engage directly with the community, amplifying the message in person.
Tickets for the BMW M4 CSL raffle are now available. Proceeds will support Walk Without Fear Trust’s anti-violence programs, social education initiatives, and national awareness campaigns.
