OFC Pro League Heads To North Harbour Stadium For Matchdays 3 & 4

The OFC Pro League continues this week with Matchdays 3 and 4 set to be played at North Harbour Stadium, following a historic opening weekend at Eden Park that marked the launch of Oceania’s first-ever professional football league.

Tuesday’s fixtures will see Bula FC and South Island United face off, with both sides seeking their first win of the competition. The day concludes with Auckland FC aiming to maintain their perfect start to the season when they take on Vanuatu United FC.

Action resumes on Wednesday with Tahiti United and PNG Hekari FC both chasing their first victory of the campaign, before a highly anticipated clash between South Melbourne FC and Solomon Kings FC, two teams who opened their seasons with wins on Matchday 2.

The OFC Pro League began in spectacular fashion at Eden Park in Auckland.

Four closely contested fixtures highlighted the competitive balance of the league, with Auckland FC, South Melbourne FC and Solomon Kings FC registering victories in their opening matches.

Vanuatu United FC’s Alex Saniel scored the first goal in OFC Pro League history, while teammate William Cardona clinched a dramatic late equaliser with a long-range strike to earn his side a point against Bula FC.

The first New Zealand derby of the season headlined Matchday 1, as Auckland FC defeated South Island United 3-0, with New Zealand international Liam Gillion delivering a standout performance.

Sunday’s matches provided further late drama, as South Melbourne FC claimed a 2-1 victory over Tahiti United courtesy of Andrew Mesourouni’s spectacular 98th minute free-kick. Solomon Kings FC also made a winning start, defeating PNG Hekari FC thanks to a decisive goal from Sota Higashide.

The weekend also marked the first use of the Umbro VAR Centre, with key decisions reviewed and implemented, including penalties and red cards, underscoring the league’s commitment to elite professional standards.

With a historic opening weekend complete, the OFC Pro League now moves to North Harbour Stadium as the competition continues to redefine the football landscape across the Pacific.
