Arca Remixes Robyn
Two generational musical icons - Robyn and Arca - today come together on record for the first time, with the release of ‘Sexistential (Arca’s Take)’ - out now via Young. Flexing both her production and vocal skills, it sees Arca reimagining the title track of Robyn’s hotly-anticipated forthcoming album; once again subverting expectations with a version that takes the original even deeper into the club.
“I’ve loved Robyn’s music for years, and am psyched to offer my support and encouragement to her.” says Arca. “I want her sense of humour - bold vision and sense of melody is so important! And this track I’ve remixed, Sexistential, deconstructs pleasure, play and motherhood in such a refreshing way. purr!” And she’s right: ‘Sexistential’ is possibly the world’s first rap about having one-night stands while 10 weeks pregnant after IVF. Conceived as a riposte to Andre 3000 saying no one would want to hear him rap about his colonoscopy, Robyn – who would love to hear that rap – decided to put it all on the line. “It was my cue,” Robyn says. “I have to do this, I have to write a rap about IVF.”
Robyn is currently in the eye of one of the year’s most celebrated musical returns. Having provided some of the biggest moments in pop culture over the last three decades, 2026 has seen her announce Sexistential - her ninth studio album and first since 2018’s Honey. Produced with longtime production collaborator Klas Åhlund, and reuniting her with MaxMartin for their first co-writes since 2010, it’s the most ecstatic record Robyn has ever made - the sound of one of contemporary music’s most influential artists coming home.
A run of recent public appearances have created huge anticipation and speculation around Sexistential. Whether performing with David Byrne to celebrate Saturday Night Live's fiftieth anniversary, appearing on CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, delivering a standout performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, headlining her own New Year’s Eve shows in NYC, making show-stopping live appearances with the likes of Charli xcx and Gracie Abrams, collaborating with Yung Lean and Charli for a version of Brat’s '360,' soundtracking Acne Studio's 2025 Paris show or - most recently - being announced to support Harry Styles at eight stadium shows in Amsterdam, Robyn continues to shape and influence popular culture in truly unique ways.
