‘Street To Track’ Ready To Take Speed Off The Streets At Hampton Downs
HAMPTON DOWNS’ brand-new event designed to take speed off New Zealand streets is building towards a spectacular launch this weekend.

Street to Track will be held this Sunday, 22 March and is designed specifically for car enthusiasts – offering a legal, controlled and fully immersive environment for motoring and motorsport fans to experience everything they love about the car scene.
The best thing is it comes without the risk of fines, demerits, impounded vehicles or injury to participants or bystanders.

Rather than meeting on the roads or in carparks, motoring enthusiasts will bring their high-performance machines to a safe and controlled environment to enjoy their full potential in the safest possible way.
The event is another part of Hampton Downs’ commitment to make New Zealand roads safer.
Street to Track - which will include the appearance of New Zealand Motorsport legends Greg Murphy and Andrew Waite to lend their expertise and tips - will feature Roll Racing, burnouts, grip sessions and a cruise of the Hampton Downs circuit.
There’ll also be food, music and a vibe like a full-on car meet with likeminded enthusiasts.
Participation entries are sold out, while spectators can attend for just $10.00 with tickets available at the gate.

JOSIE SPILLANE – CEO, Hampton Downs
“Hampton Downs Street to Track is more than just a car event, it’s part of our ongoing mission to make New Zealand roads safer,” Spillane said.
“This event sits alongside our broader road safety initiatives, including The Hampton Down's Drive Safe Advantage and Street Smart driven by the Tony Quinn Foundation. These programmes reflect a long-term commitment to improving driver behaviour and reducing harm on our roads.
“Street to Track is not a one-off event, it’s part of Hampton Downs’ sustained effort to make a real difference.”
GREG MURPHY – NZ Racing Legend, Street Smart ambassador
“Illegal street activity is a reality and ignoring it doesn’t solve the problem,” Murphy said.
“Street to Track gives drivers a safe, legal, and exciting alternative to push their love for cars on the track.
“We care about the car culture. We care about young drivers. We care about New Zealand roads. Most importantly, we care about lives. This event is a fantastic way to embrace all of that and do it safely and away from our streets.”
MIKE WHIDDETT – New Zealand Drifting Legend
“When I get my cars sideways, I always do it in controlled environment,” Whiddett said.
“Street to Track is an awesome way for people to experience their own performance cars, or even just their standard street car, at a world class facility with all the safety and control that professional motorsport offers.
“It’s a great initiative and I’m looking forward to getting along to a future Street to Track event.”
